Children's Manuscript Critique - Services for Writing Childrens Books - Lessons to Become a Childrens Book Writer

•Writing Programs

Rates for writing programs are as follows:

•One Month Program:
Four lessons will be set, one every week, for the writer to complete. Each task will then be submitted to the editor for evaluation and recommendations. $150

•Two Month Program:
Eight lessons will be set, one every week, for the writer to complete. Each task will then be submitted to the editor for evaluation and recommendations. $275

•Three Month Program:
Twelve lessons will be set, one every week, for the writer to complete. Each task will then be submitted to the editor for evaluation and recommendations. $425.

•Manuscript Evaluations

Rates for evaluations are as follows:

•Picture Books (Fiction/Non-Fiction)
$50

•Chapter Books/Early readers (Fiction/Non-Fiction)
$75 (up to 120 pages)
If the manuscript is longer it will take more time to do it justice. Additional time spent on it will be charged the hourly rate (see below) An accounting of additional time spent on a manuscript will be submitted to the client for prompt payment at the time of service.

•Mid-Grade and Young Adult (Fiction/Non-Fiction)
$200 (up to 300 pages)
If the manuscript is longer it will take more time to do it justice. Additional time spent on it will be charged the hourly rate (see below) An accounting of additional time spent on a manuscript will be submitted to the client for prompt payment at the time of service.

Additional time spent on a manuscript will be charged at $30.00 an hour.

Manuscripts are accepted in either print form (1 inch margins, double- spaced, with a regular 12 point font) or as part of an email (no attachments please). Clients can expect to receive their manuscript evaluation in a timely manner in either print or email form.

Payment is expected in advance and can be made by personal check, money order, or via Paypal.

Please Note:

The editor does not promise that a publisher will accept a manuscript for publication but she does promise to provide the author with an honest, supportive, and clear assessment of his or her work, offering suggestions on how to improve the work as well as pointing out its weaknesses.

In an effort to provide a service that is affordable and that has a reasonably fast turn-around time, Children's Book Manuscript Services does not offer line by line copy-editing.
